The Black Pearl Stakes is a Listed $140,000 race held at Geelong Racecourse in Victoria. It is raced over 1200m with set weights plus penalties and is for fillies and mares aged three and older. It will be run on the same day as the Geelong Cup, which is Wednesday, October 21.
Damian Lane rode Smart Coupe to victory in the 2019 edition of the Black Pearl Stakes. Gina’s Hope finishing second, with Into The Abyss placing third. After claiming victory in the race, Smart Coupe went to Flemington, finishing mid-field in the Listed MSS Security Sprint.
