The Gimcrack Stakes is a 1000m Group 3 race for two-year-old fillies held at Randwick Racecourse. It has a total prize pool of $160,000 and is raced with set weights. In 2020, the race will be run on Saturday, October 3, the same day as the Epsom Handicap, Metropolitan and Darley Flight Stakes.
Every Rose won the 2019 edition of the Gimcrack Stakes, with Stellar Pauline and Ticket To Ride running second and third. After the victory, Every Rose took no further part in the Spring Racing Carnival.

The race is named after Gimcrack, who was a highly successful horse in the 1700s. Maltine won the first edition back in 1906, and since then a number of decent horses have claimed victory in the Gimcrack Stakes, with Wenona Girl being the most notable.
John O’Shea has had great success in recent years, winning the Gimcrack Stakes three straight times from 2014-2016. James McDonald rode the winner in two of those three victories.
In 2019, Every Rose ran 0:58.57 to win the Gimcrack Stakes, however, the fastest time of the last 20 years was actually recorded the year prior. Catch Me clocked 0:56.99 to win in 2018, beating Diddles and Mayaaseh.
