Racing NSW has today announced they have eased restrictions on horses crossing the border from regional Victoria into New South Wales.

This first phase in the easing of restrictions only relates to horses currently located outside of metropolitan Melbourne, with the further easing of restrictions to come as Racing NSW analyse the ongoing situation in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell shire.

This announcement is a positive first sign for trainers and connections, which have been operating under the blanket restrictions since July. It opens the door for greater flexibility for horses to travel between the two states as the Melbourne Spring Carnival draws closer.
