Our Playboy is set to head to the Gold Coast in a move that trainer Mick Price believes will see the talented colt return to his best with the different way of going.

The son of Sebring took out the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) over the likes of Ranting and Rulership, before a disappointing result in the McNeil Stakes (1200m), and a credible sixth in the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

“We worked him reverse way a couple of times in the inside grass. He won a Group 3 here and he’s going for the Gold Coast Guineas over 1400m,” Price said.

“He used to interfere with himself. A couple of times we had to change shoeing on him, he used to hit under one hock.

“Since he has gone that way, he is as clean as a whistle.”

“He’s got a couple of races at Eagle Farm and Doomben,” Price said.

“He will do his training on the Gold Coast. I think the 1400m will suit him and he goes super that way of going.

“If I can get my timing right on him, it will be interesting.”

From Muswellbrook to the Melbourne Cup, Will is mad about all things racing and sport. Spent countless hours in the backyard as a child pretending to be Glenn McGrath, and has been known to get deadly late swing with a taped tennis ball.
