The galloper clocked in at 55.44 seconds, including a solid 34.66 last 600m, doing plenty of work three wide the trip.

The son of Street Cry was third in last year’s The Everest, and should have plenty of residual fitness heading into this spring, after a busy autumn where he took out the Group 1 Goodwood Stakes in Adelaide, and ran in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap in Brisbane.
Also catching the eye in Monday mornings trials was progressive mare Fituese, who was never troubled in her run, bursting from the wide gate and securing the win with ease.
The lightly raced John Thompson-trained mare put together a very solid winter campaign, and is set to resume in a Benchmark 88 sprint over 1100m on September 12, before tackling some tougher assignments with continued improvement.
Watch: Fituese race away to a big win from the wide gate in her Monday morning trial.
