Talented South Australian Derby winner Russian Camelot is set to step out for the first time this spring on his cups path, headlining the nominations for the 2020 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.

The Danny O’Brien trained galloper will be keenly watched by many punters, as the son of Camelot tops the early betting for the 2020 Cox Plate ($9), and 2020 Caulfield Cup ($11), as well as occupying the second line of betting for the 2020 Melbourne Cup ($10).

Other Danny O’Brien runners joining him in the Makybe Diva Stakes nominations are King Of Leogrance, Miami Bound, Orderofthegarter, and Vow And Declare.

Nominees familiar with Russian Camelot from the South Australian Derby are placegetters Warning and Dalasan.

Watch: Russian Camelot’s staggering SA Derby win.

Russian Camelot ($3) has opened favourite, with Fierce Impact ($7) leading a host of runners at $8, including Dalasan, Kings Will Dream, Master Of Wine, and Perfect Jewel.

Bob Peters has confirmed that nominated runner Arcadia Queen will instead head to the 2020 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) as she recovers from an injury setback.
