Cummings: Dubai and Royal Ascot ‘Top of the List’ for Bivouac

Mon 9th November 2020

Star sprinter Bivouac is set to take on the world following his win in the VRC Sprint Classic, with trainer James Cummings flagging Dubai and Royal Ascot as possible targets next year.

The talented four-year-old mowed down the world’s highest rated sprinter Nature Strip during the VRC Sprint Classic, prompting connections to plot an international campaign for the son of Exceed And Excel.

‘’We’ve spoken about the plans provisionally,’’ Cummings said while speaking to RSN927.

‘’We’ll go through it in more detail tomorrow morning but I don’t think there are any members of the team that aren’t excited by the prospect of taking this horse abroad.

‘’I like the idea of including the Lightning [Stakes at Flemington] in the horse’s campaign for next year and we can use that as a launching pad for any exploits overseas.

’’At the top of the list has to be Dubai and Royal Ascot. That can make it a big year for a colt but we think he’s well capable of making that trip and undergoing that challenge because he’s got a marvellous temperament.

‘’We are very lucky to have a horse that good in our care.’’
