Mick Price looks to have uncovered a smart colt in Cambourne, with the three-year-old making it two wins from two career starts after saluting at Bendigo on Wednesday.

The son of Redoute’s Choice caught the eye on debut at Donald, and managed to repeat the feat in a 1400m Handicap at Bendigo against older horses.

Co-trainer Mick Price said that his galloper would relish getting out to the mile, and that he’d start plotting a course towards the 2020 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

“I’m just in two minds how to get him into the Caulfield Guineas from today,” Price told Racing.com after the win.

Price said the $300,000 son of Redoute’s Choice had the talent to be a black-type horse and would relish getting out to a mile.

“I think he’ll be a beautiful 1600m horse.”

“He’s a nice colt. He is a lovely tempered horse. He just raises an eyebrow when he sees a good sort, but I won’t hold that against him.

“The more racing he does, the better he will be.”

Cambourne is a $14 chance for the 2020 Caulfield Guineas, and a $10 chance for the VRC Derby.
