Trainer Jason Warren is confident about Brooklyn Hustle’s chances in Friday’s Group 1 2020 Manikato Stakes (1200m), declaring that the mare is “the best I’ve had her.”
The four-year-old resumed well with a spectacular win at Moonee Valley three runs back, before placing in the McEwen Stakes (1000m) and running home well to finish fourth in the Moir Stakes (1000m) last start

Warren is happy with her work leading up to Friday’s Manikato Stakes, saying that she’s in the best shape of her career.
“I took her to Moonee Valley on Saturday for a piece of work,” Warren said.
“I don’t usually gallop her too close to the race, so she just did a bit of work at home (on Tuesday) and she’ll head to the races on Friday night.
“She’s spot on, she’s been ready to go for a couple of weeks now, I’ve just kept her ticking along.
“I’d have to say that this is probably the best I’ve had her.”
He is also buoyed by the presence of Pippie in the field, who will inject some pace into the field and hopefully bring Brooklyn Hustle into the race from a midfield position.
“If she can hold a midfield position, that would be great.
“She probably ended up a bit further back last start just due to the barrier and the way she left it but I think, over 1200m, we can ideally be a bit closer.
“I’m pretty happy to see her (Pippie) in the field to be honest because she injects genuine speed in the race, which is what our girl needs.”
Brooklyn Hustle is currently a $10 chance for the Manikato Stakes.
