Canberra Cup Expert Tips

Mugatoo $1.90
All I can say, is there’s a good reason why Mugatoo is such a short favourite.

Trialling well on his home turf in Newcastle, Mugatoo took out 2nd place in the 1200m event, after a sizeable 5-month spell.

Heading into the 3-week mark before the Canberra Cup, Mugatoo raced well in Randwick, to claim victory at the 1600m against a field of 8.

In his final jump before the Canberra Cup, Mugatoo once again defeated an entire Randwick field at 1800m.

Proving he’s more than capable of the 200m rise in distance, Mugatoo, with Kerrin McEvoy onboard, shouldn’t see a problem, or competitor in the race.

Just looks too strong.

Maid of Ore $13
With Tommy Berry to booked in for the ride – Maid Of Ore could swoop in for the title, in a win nobody saw coming.

Although Mugatoo looks set to pip him at the post – Maid Of Ore will relish the turf on his home track in Canberra, and has been coming into form as of late.

Maid Of Ore placed in the Canberra Mile at 1600m, just behind Valentino Rossa and Cinquedea.

Both will be racing against him in the upcoming Canberra Cup, but Maid Of Ore’s finish looked strong, and I’d definitely have him for a place again in the Canberra Cup.

Unsure if he’ll be able to take home the win on his home track, but a place bet definitely wouldn’t go astray.

Think It Over $21
Think It Over is bred by elite racehorse So You Think and has tallied up over $650,000 worth of winnings in it’s racing profile.

Coming off of a 1st place trial in Kembla, a place in Warwick Farm, and a 1st place at Randwick at 2000m, this horse may surprise on the day and go all the way.

Think It Over is proven at the 2000m line, and has raced against a class act at Randwick. Although other horses may look stronger at the line, Think It Over would be worth a punt for exotics.
