Overview of Bet365 Betting

Updated January 4, 2022

sportsbook overview

It may be safe to assume that you have little to no experience with Bet365. Well, look no further than our Bet365 review! Bet365 is a UK-based betting platform that has expanded globally and has become a top level bookie. Often offering racing markets sooner than other bookies whilst also giving punters better odds, Bet365 attempts to make the betting experience better for their users.

Given their heritage, being based in the UK, Bet365 are one of the best bookies in Australia when it comes to racing and markets. They have a better understanding of what is happening around the world in the racing industries and offer better services for those.

They have also increased their amount and value of promotions over the years to match some of the Australian-based bookies that punters know and love. Bet365 is also wary of gambling issues that punters face and have multiple options to help limit accounts and remind punters to have a break from punting.

Bet365 Bonus Bets

sportsbook bonus codes

While they don’t offer specific Bet365 sign-up bonuses or deposit matches, there are still ways to get your hands on a Bet365 bonus bet. They have improved their promotions over the last few years to incentivise punters into using their platform, including offering bonus promotions.

Whilst named ‘Bonus Credits’ on the Bet365 platform, they work the same as bonus bets with any other bookie. Their current promotion is a ‘Racing Refund’, where you can get a bonus credit up to $50 if your horse finished 2nd or 3rd on select races.

Bet365 bonus credits can also be split up as many times as you would like, with a $50 bonus credit being able to be used as 1 x $50 bet or 100 x 50c bets. This gives punters a unique way to use their Bet365 bonus bets.

With the Spring Carnival being the busiest time for bookies in Australia, Bet365 are known to offer promotions that entice you to place a bet on the card where a big race is being run and they reward you with a Bet365 free bet to use on the big race. For example, you can win a $25 bonus credit to be used on the Caulfield Cup by placing a $25 cash bet on the same day but another race on the card.

Bet365 Promotions

sportsbook bet types

While they aren’t on the same level as some of the main Australian bookies, Bet365 promotions have improved over the years and provide punters with some good options when looking to place their bets.

Racing Refund

When looking at racing, the main Bet365 promo is the racing refund. Your biggest fixed odds bet on select races will be refunded as a bet credit if your horse finished 2nd or 3rd. This is a very common offer amongst Australian bookies so it is good to see Bet365 offering this promotion, especially given their odds are typically better than what other bookies provide.

However, be careful as this Bet365 promotion isn’t on all races. Be sure to check the promotions page to find out which races they have selected.

365 Top Tote +

If you place a tote bet, an exotic bet or a multiples bet on Bet365, you will receive the best odds across the three national totes. If the starting price is better than the best tote offer, Bet365 will honour those odds and payout the best odds available on each winning bet.

Much like the racing refund, this Bet365 promo doesn’t apply to all races, but it is more lenient than the racing refund and typically includes the Melbourne and Sydney metro tracks for both Wednesday and Saturday meets, along with others throughout the week.

Some other bookies offer best tote offers, however Bet365 is unique in it pays out on the best of either the top tote or the best starting price, giving punters the best bang for their buck when punting on the tote.

Bet365 Features

Bet365 offers plenty of features, with the best of those being being able to edit a live bet, whether it be a single or a multi. This feature gives you the ability to add, swap or remove selections from your unsettled pre-match bets.

This means that after placing your bet, you can change between a win only, each way or place only bet, providing punters with an incredible opportunity to fix an accidental bet or adjust their bet based on how the track is running on.

Another feature of the Bet365 platform is ‘My Horses’. This allows you to make note of certain runners and add them to your ‘stable’ and get notified before they run their next race. This gives punters an exciting way to follow ‘their horses’, which they had a big win on, love to follow in each race or had an eye-catching run last time out.

Bet365 Betting

sportsbook betting

Bet365 isn’t the smoothest betting platform on the market, but they often provide punters with some of the best odds on the market and that is a good incentive to bet with them on race day.

Their racing section is quite clunky and isn’t laid out in a punter-friendly manner but they do include their racing refund promotional races at the top of the page, highlighting which races you can bet on with the security of receiving a Bet365 bonus bet if your horse runs 2nd or 3rd.

Steps To Placing a Bet With Bet365

When opening the Bet365 app, the home screen will display races that are next to jump, along with the racing icon in the top left corner. Clicking on the racing icon will take you to the ‘Horse Racing’ page.

This displays the next to jump races, the racing refund races for that day and then the tracks that have races that day. Upon scrolling down and finding the track you want to place your bet on, you can swipe sideways to select the race you want to bet on. After selecting the race, you can then select which horse you want to back, by clicking the associated odds.

Bet365 offers a quick bet feature that allows you to add a stake and place your bet without having to go to your formal betslip. This is a quick and easy way for punters to place their bet, especially if the race is about to jump.

Bet365 Deposit Options

Bet365 is truly amazing with the options they provide you with in terms of depositing funds. They have 13 different methods to deposit, including the typical debit card and credit card deposit, as well as through PayPal, Apple Pay and Poli Transfer.

They also offer a Bet365 Mastercard and Bet365 Visa Card which allows punters to transfer funds quickly and easily between that card, which can be used on normal everyday purchases, and into your Bet365 account to use on betting. Some other methods include a PaySafeCard, Flexepin voucher, Cash Top Up card, Click to Pay, Bank Wire and Cheque.

The one thing that sticks out is that Bet365 does have a $10 minimum deposit, which is higher than most other bookies. However, their incredible amount of options gives punters the freedom to choose.

Bet365 Withdrawal Options

Much like their deposit options, Bet365 have plenty of withdrawal options too, with the main being bank transfer. This is the most common withdrawal method across most bookies and is the most trusted method.

This typically takes some time but should be in your account by Monday afternoon if you withdraw over the weekend. Other Bet365 withdrawal options include Bet365 Mastercard or Visa, Cheque, PayPal and other money transfering platforms, mentioned in the deposit section.

Bet365 Sign Up Process

sportsbook sign up

The Bet365 sign up process is pretty straightforward. You simply click the ‘Join’ button in the top right corner of the website or the ‘Log In’ button in the top right corner of the app. If you are on the app, you will then see a ‘Join’ button in the top left corner.

You then have to enter your personal details, create a username for your account and come up with your password and four-digit security number. It also gives you the option to set a deposit limit as well, which is a great feature to have when signing up which most other bookies don’t have.

It gives you the option to enter a bonus code, however you are unable to receive a Bet365 sign up bonus, given the legislation in place in Australia. This code section can be useful as you occasionally receive first deposit bonuses. From there, all you need to do is verify your age and account, which can be done through an email they send to you once you click through from signing up.

Bet365 App Review

sportsbook mobile app

Overall, the Bet365 app isn’t one of the best in the market, but they are one of the most trusted bookies worldwide. They offer great betting options on all markets across the world and often have some of the best odds on Australian racing.

They are quite limited in their promotions, however they are getting much better in this area and are catching to the popular Australian bookies. This does set them behind the pack, behind the ‘Big 4’ of Sportsbet, PointsBet, TAB and Ladbrokes, however they are in the next pack behind them, and have the added bonus of being an internationally recognised bookie.

Bet365 does have some cool features such as editing in-play bets and the ability to save horses to ‘My Stable’, however this doesn’t really compare to some of the other features and promotions that the bigger, Australian bookies have.

The app is a bit behind the other bookies in terms of being user-friendly and being able to get your head around it, which is often why some punters choose to go with some of the other platforms on offer.

Bet365 Review FAQs

Still got some questions in relation to Bet365? Well have a read on below, hopefully we have answered them for you!

How to bet on Bet365?

Betting on Bet365 is pretty straightforward. Simply find the market you want to be on, click the odds and enter your stake. You then have to click ‘Place Bet’ and confirm in order for your bet to be accepted, with Bet365 giving you the opportunity to double check what you have done is correct.

How to win on Bet365?

This is the fun part. Putting in the time and effort, or simply clicking something on a whim, hoping that your bet wins and you can collect some winnings. In order to win, you need to place a bet that ends up being successful, whether it be a horse to win or an eight-leg multi with your top selections!

Who owns Bet365?

Bet365 was founded by Denise Coates, who is a majority shareholder and joint-chief executive, along with her brother John.

What does void mean in Bet365?

A void bet means that your bet has been removed from the market and can no longer be bet on – typically occurring when a horse is scratched from a race. When this happens, you will get your stake refunded in cash, or if that void bet is part of a multi, those odds are removed from the bet and the remainder of your multi is still alive.

How long does Bet365 take to withdraw?

Bet365 does not give a specific withdrawal time on their website but typically money can get into your account on the same day if you withdraw before the early afternoon. If withdrawing on the weekend, the money should hit your account by Monday evening.

How to verify a Bet365 account?

Once creating a Bet365 account, you will be sent an email to verify your personal details. You have 14 days to complete this process and then you will have full access to your account, including being able to deposit and withdraw funds.

How to do a quaddie on Bet365?

When placing your quaddie on Bet365, you first need to decide which track you are placing your quaddie on. Once you have decided that, you simply click on the racing icon in the top left corner of the app, then select the track you are betting on.

There is occasionally an option to select ‘quaddie’ on the racing home page, however if you click into the first leg of the quaddie, typically race six or seven, there is an option in there under exotics. You then enter in the horses you want for each leg, enter your stake and hope it comes up.

What does flexi mean on Bet365?

Flexi betting allows you to take exotic bet types (quinella, exacta, trifecta or first 4) and also multiple bet types (doubles, trebles or quaddies) with as many selections or combinations as you like for whatever amount you wish to invest.

How to do a multi on Bet365?

Doing a multi on Bet365 is very similar to placing a singles bet, however, instead of entering a stake and clicking ‘Place Now’, you can go back to other races and continue to add horses to your bet slip, which has popped up at the bottom of the screen. You can then add as many legs as you want to your betslip and as you add more legs, your odds will pop up in the bottom right corner.

Once you have added all of the legs you want to add, you click on the ‘Bet Slip’ icon down the bottom, enter your stake in the bottom right corner and press ‘Place Bet’ at the bottom, which will be in the green bar.

How to place a quinella bet on Bet365?

Firstly, you must select the track and race that you would like to bet on. You must select exotics near the top of the page and then quinella. Then you must pick the horses that you would like to place 1st and 2nd. Finally, click ‘Add to Bet Slip’ down the bottom of the page and your quinella will now appear in your bet slip, where you can then confirm your wager like you would with any regular selection.

Can you cancel a bet on Bet365?

As a general rule in betting, once a bet has been made it cannot be cancelled. However, Bet365 offers a feature to edit in-play bets. While you can’t cancel a single bet, you can remove legs from a multi, and even add new ones in their place if you would like.

Can you cash out on Bet365?

The type of bet you place dictates whether you are able to ‘cash out’ at any stage or not. You can cash a bet out before or during the game however it typically can only be on a fixed odds win in horse racing.

How to bet live on Bet365?

You select which market you want to bet on and then it takes you to a section where you must call in to place your bet. Unfortunately at the moment, you can’t bet live on races on Bet365.

How to bet trifecta on Bet365?

Firstly, you must select the track and race that you would like to bet on. From there, the user will select exotics and then trifecta from the top menu. Then you must pick the horses that you would like to place 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

In this step, you can either choose ‘boxed’, ‘field’ or you can enter your number manually. Boxed means that each horse you select can finish in any of the three positions in the trifecta. Field means that you select every single horse to finish in that position.

Entering manually allows you to specifically choose which horse will finish in which position, making it more difficult but more specific to your selections. Finally, click ‘Add to Bet Slip’ and it will now appear in your bet slip at the bottom of the screen, where you can then confirm your stake like you would with any regular selection.

How to watch races on Bet365?

Bet365 has the ability to show races, however it is only at select tracks on select days and you must be an active user of your account to be able to use this service. When you go into the ‘Horse Racing’ page, you will be able to see a little TV icon next to the tracks where you can watch races.

How does a Bet365 bonus bet work?

A Bet365 bonus bet is actually called a bonus credit on their platform. However, this works the exact same way as a bonus bet with any other bookie. The added bonus of Bet365 is you can break your credit down in multiple ways. You can use a $50 bonus credit as 1 $50 bet or 100 50c bets. This is a unique way to be able to use Bet365 free bets, compared to other bookies.

Final Thoughts on Bet365

sportsbook final

We always recommend having a betting account with most, if not all, bookies in Australia, to ensure you make the most of all promotions and can find the best odds in the market. However, there are definitely other bookies, like Sportsbet, PointsBet or Neds, that we would use ahead of Bet365.

They have improved their app and betting ability lately but are still inferior to the main Australian bookies, being harder to use and having inferior promotions. While they have some good features and are definitely worth a play around, especially during the Spring Carnival when they have more offers available, it is probably best to use your money elsewhere where you can get better security with your bets through bonus bet offers or get better bang for your buck with boosted odds promotions.
